Bill Stewart shaped and airbrushed this board back in 1980. Without a doubt the San Clemente shaper was also the airbrush guru of the day. Most of these OP boards ended up as wall art for the O.P. shops and never ridden. Bill Stewart has been shaping boards for over 30 years. He started out in 1963 with Rick James where he learnt all he could about building surfboards, painting and shaping. Bill was one of the first people to air brush surfboards and got his big break when he started airbrushing hundreds of boards for OP. Bill was hired by South Shore and then Hobie before starting his own surfboard brand in 1978.

Millers Outpost late 70’s early 80’s Surfboard.  I actually went to High School with the Millers Daughters, thus there is some connection here with this board.  Millers Outpost was the got to spot to buy your Levi’s back in 70’s and early 80’s. This was before denim took off and the world of many brands came into play.  The Millers had the South Bay wrapped up with it came to Levi Jeans.   I do recall seeing Surfboard Displayed in the store, but do not recall this one in particular.  Clean California gun swallow tail outline.  Clean board, all original with no dings.  OP Lam with cool sunset spray.  Simple but looks more.  Ebay Purchase. (o) 8.5/10

This is a true OP Airbrush 1970’s Wave-Scape Round Pintail.  Classic spray, have not seen another one similar.  Cream Opaque Resin glass bottom with overlap.  Airbrush is clean and all original.  One large pressure ding on deck, otherwise fairly clean.  This board was offered on Ebay, but the seller had lame photos and it looked like a beater.  I lucked out and won it at a good price.  Had it cleaned up and polished. (o) 7.5/10

I have seen a lot of these floating around out there.  They must have made a lot of these.  Era, late 1970’s, early 80’s.  Same pintail shape, cool double OP Lams, top and bottom. Signature on airbrush wave scape.  colorful surfboard, nice sex appeal. All orginal.  Gumba 6.0 Purchase (o) 8.5/10

PLEASE NOTE:I am not to knowledgeable  on the OP Surfboard history, the air brushers that were involved etc. , thus, if someone could add a post on their history etc. that would be cool.  – Buggs
