Tony Anjo Shaper of Lightning Bolt 1970’s

Tony Anjo was one of the Lightning Bolt shapers of the 70’s, who relocated to Hilo.  During the prime time of Lightning Bolt Hawaii  during mid to late 70’s Lightning Bolt had a Stable of Hawaiian Shapers, one of which was Tony Anjo.  Tony also shaped under some other Labels such as Hawaii Surf Designs.  I have very little details and or stories of his tenure under each label,  But I’am  stoked to have acquired some of his mid to late 70’s works which represent a good cross section of Board Designs for small to large Hawaiian conditions.

KEY: O= Original, R= Repaired, RF= Refurbished. Condition of board rated: 1(worst)-10(best)

Board Dimensions
Length: 6′ 7″
Width: 19″ 1/8
Thickness: 2″ 1/4Cool Sting Swallow influenced by Ben Aipa, late 70’s.  Nice Blue Tint, all original, narrow tail, from Stings.  Meaning to ride this , yet in line with the others.  Unknown on the yellow resin work on the deck, appears original but hard to tell if an after thought.  (9) o
Board Dimensions

Width: 18″ 3/4
Thickness: 2″ 5/8
Bitchen TA Gun, all original, double double bolts, glassed in brewer style fin.   One of my favorites for large conditions at Pipe.  Note: all of these made in Hawaii. (8) o
Board Dimensions
Length: 6′ 2″

Mid 70’s Bolt made for Town and or small north shore. Double deep tangerine spray, yet note bottom sun faded. I believe this boards was a wall and or shop display as never appears to have been ridden. Pedia graph ink “Lightning Bolt” on deck. best of all is the multi color resin lay up glassed on fin. Just pure art.  Back then, they would build the board including color around the fin. (8.5) o
