Pat Ryan was born in San Diego in 1953. At age 11 he moved to Manhattan Beach where he learned how to do a lot of things, including surf. At age 15, Pat got a job working at Greg Noll’s shop on PCH. It wasn’t long until Greg himself began teaching Pat the art of a shaping. By 1970 Pat was shaping short boards for Greg Noll.

In 1971, Pat and Eddie opened E.T. Surfboards not far from its current location on Aviation Boulevard in Hermosa Beach. Pat shaped all of the boards for the shop, “mostly round tail single fins, wingers and diamond tails”.

Eddie T.  Good Man, Good Business Man, Good Friend!  South Bay Icon both in and out of the water.  I was a Team Rider back in the late 70’s thru 80’s.  Pat Gumby, Shaper Icon of So Cal and still shapes today for Eddie.   I wish I kept some of  my Team Boards. but long gone. E.T. Surfboard shop was a staple for me and is still today for many groms and families.  He offers the best deals in town and will always match and beat anyone’s prices. He has taught me a lot over the years when it comes to business since.  Eddie is a Board Collector and will be featured on Surfboardline.com in coming months.  As far as this board is concerned.  Not really collectible, yet the fact I have a so many great memories at Eddies I have been searching high and low for any clean E.T.’s.  Thank You Theresa for all those surf car pool days and taking me to all those contest.  A lot of history at E.T. for  Buggs.
